What was the defining moment in your life which set you on the path of becoming a winemaker?

Who would you regard as your mentor?

There is not one specific person, but a number of different people who have had an influence on my life on different levels.

You work with a selection of some of the world’s most noble grape varieties. Is there one other variety with which you would really like to work?

Is there another wine you would like to make in your cellar with the varieties available to you there?

We try new styles of wine every year and will always try to do something different, but you need to respect the grapes and the terroir to reflect the best that the region can produce.

You seem to be quite innovative with new wine styles – what leads you there?

You need to make wine interesting for the consumer and also to grow as a winemaker you need to try new things on a constant basis.

If you could choose anywhere in the world to make wine other than where you are now, where would it be?
